THEME/MOOD:

Secrets.  Everyone has some.  Some are little – you bought your Diploma.  Some are personal – you have a mistress.  Some are huge – the local MP is your lackey.  Some are strange – you have a working wishing well.  Who do you protect your secrets from?

Us.

A new business opened up in London to mark the New Year.  Their building, near Dundas and Clarence, has reputedly undergone quite a bit of renovations although the exterior looks basically the same.  The only addition to the front of the building was a sign – a single, open eye.  The public reputation of “The Eye” is that of a premium private investigation firm.  If you have a question, they have the answer, if you have what they want for payment.

Rumor on the street says that they’re hiring.

1) Example character types.
The PCs will be taking the parts of either investigators or information contractors that have been hired by “The Eye”, a private investigation firm.  NPCs will be “The Eye”, his other employees, information sources (internal and external), and both past and present clients.

Mysteries will predominate this Venue.  Finding information, both mundane and supernatural, will be very important.  How it is found could be anything from direct investigation, searching archives, or using informants.  Important skills will include Investigation, Academics, Computer, Occult, Larceny, Athletics, Streetwise, Persuasion, Intimidation and Subterfuge.  Important merits will include Contacts, Allies, Status, Encyclopedic Knowledge and Eidetic Memory.

2) Next, try to define the type of role-play you want to encourage.
Players will be hired to investigate cases, or can take on cases on their own.  Teamwork, sharing information and resources will be required in order to solve the plotlines.  Inter-PC squabbling and power games will be discouraged.

Because of the theme of this Venue there isn’t a simple description.  One day’s antagonist may be next day’s ally.  Most will be regular mortals, although interaction with the various Supernaturals or ghosts will occur occasionally as well.  This interaction will, for the most part, not be pitting them against each other but rather as both roadblocks and sources of information.

VENUE RULES:
As per the Camarilla Mortal rules.  Any Mid Approval or higher items require a background to be submitted as per the DST.  Membership in a GSO is possible, and will likely give your characters some additional connections.  Cross-venue interactions are possible, but PC-to-PC interaction with the other local Venues is unlikely.

Net Play requirements:  In order for a player to earn experience other then game experience the player has to play on the 1. A local IC list.  2. National or International IC lists.  3. IRC or Downtime activities.  These can be used to gain a max of 3XP.  Now listing 2 and 3 must be logged, to both the ST list and the Lead Venue ST.

Mortal ST is required to have a copy of all pre-experience sheets, up to date character sheets and experience logs.  All item cards that are left with the Mortal ST are the responsibility of the ST and will be replace if lost.  Any item cards taken home with the player are the player’s responsibility and will not be replaced.  If the player loses the item card, the character is assumed to have lost the item.

CHECK IN RULES:
All players must first Sign in and pay any site fees and then must go to the character sign in.

VISITING CHARACTERS:
The players should announce that the character is a visiting character at ST sign in and then the ST can go over character and provide any additional information required to the player.
